is holding a Bleach Contest.
Here are the details for everyone who is interested.
__________Official Contest Information__________
Contest Theme: Two of my Bleach Characters Interacting
Written descriptions for each of the Bleach OCs can be found in the gallery folder marked "Bleach", and each one of them is fair game as a member of any pairing the artist can imagine. I give free reign to the artist as to what the characters are doing in the picture, especially since I've withheld their relationships with each other. I highly suggest using creativity to create interesting pairings, whether they be fighting, courting, or even hanging out and messing with each other. It's all up to the artist as to how the characters are interacting in the picture.
Many characters have already had art done of them which can be used as a visual reference - most of it can be found in the "Commissions" gallery on my page - but others are only found in text format. Both are available as character choices, but there might be more work involved in running from a text-only reference.
Contest Dates/Timetable: March 15th to April 30th
The contest will officially begin on March 15th and will end on April 30th. Placements will be announced and prizes will be delivered before May 5th, during which time myself and the other judges will sort out the votes and select the winners.
Any entries submitted before the beginning date will not be added to the public folder until March 15th, when the contest officially begins, although you are more than welcome to submit things early if you feel the need. No late entries will be permitted, unfortunately. It makes things difficult, which is why the contest is slated to last for more than a month in order to accommodate a wider range of art styles and personal schedules.
__________Official Contest Rules__________
Display and Ownership
Once an artist completes an entry, it will be submitted to this account under the folder labeled "Contest", which will be created on March 15th. All information regarding the creator of the artwork will be displayed in the comments section of the deviation and in no way will I claim to be the artist behind the work. All praise be to the artists, so I always make sure to tell people who did what and, if they accept commissions, where to find their page. I love commissions and those who make them, so I credit artists wherever they deserve it. However, I retain the right to use the artwork submitted to this contest in non-market, non-profit, personal ventures relating to the characters the art represents in a manner indicative of ownership.
Multiple Entries
I'm allowing a maximum of three entries per contestant. No single artist may win more than one prize, however, and the highest ranking entry will be counted in such a case.
__________Official Contest Criteria__________
Technique: Maximum 30 Points
The points in this category are determined by the cleanness of the drawing, the use of perspective, the clarity of the artistic elements, and the overall look of the picture as a singular piece of art. This has nothing to do with the personal drawing style of the artist, as such things are much more opinion-based and don't have systematic avenues available to judge them by.
Character Pairing: Maximum 30 Points
The points in this category are determined by the uniqueness and creativity of the pairing chosen and the scene in which they are presented. This is where the real creativity comes into play for an entry, and due to the large amount of potential pairings and the activities that may be represented, unique ideas are a great way to score points for this criteria.
Character Appearance Accuracy: Maximum 20 Points
The points in this category are determined by how true the characters are represented in the entry. This only refers to the physical appearance of characters, not their personality, which is another section of criteria. By accurately presenting the characters using the detailed descriptions or picture references located on my page, an artist can score more points in this category.
Character Personality Accuracy: Maximum 20 Points
The points in this category are determined by the representation of personality in the entry. Each character has their own personality that causes them to act differently, hold themselves in different manners, and express themselves via varied facial expressions. To win more points in this category, an artist should read what the character is like and pose them accordingly.
Total: Maximum 100 Points
After looking at the previous categories and adding up all of the points, each judge will give the entry a score out of 100 total possible points. The contest results are determined by whichever entries rank highest in regards to total point number. In the event of a tie, the judges will cast final votes to determine positioning.
